Got permission to detect an old plantation site (1850) on a heavily traveled road during civil war. All fields are planted still and will be for a bit longer. I was able to poke around a small garden field next to the home that was empty. Nothing super old but a few goodies. Rabies tag from 70's. skeleton key, good luck token, lead cannons toy (best guess) ford Corliss item. Now I just need those crops off to hi the fields.

Cool token, I found one of those in Michigan for some local store.

Nice finds stillrollin300. Thanks for sharing...

I found one of those tokens Monday, nice finds!

Your token is cool, notice the swastika on it. My buddies found a couple of those up here in Michigan as well. The key is really cool too!

Neat lead cannon

Went back out today for a few hours and got a few more goodies, surprisingly enough nothing really old again. I had my best thimble day today digging three, two of which were silver. Four wheat pennies another skeleton key, two small buckles, flat button, a president Taft token, another lead cannon toy, mystery decorative piece, and some clad. I spoke with the owner and gave her the two old keys to her home as well as the lead cannon. She was thrilled and a little choked up knowing she was holding items that her family had long ago lost.

Off to a great start. Keep at it, you'll turn up a large variety of old relics from there I bet. I've been detecting an 1800 plantation here in NC for over 5 years now and there is always more relics popping up. Any old wells, privies, wooded areas, huge trees around there?
Good luck to you,
MM

Hey MM I've seen some of your vids you gotta a fan here. I already ID'd the well unfortunately it's been filled, old privy is in a field that's still planted in beans as well as the original slave quarters. There is also a field that according to the family diary held camps from both sides at some point during war, also covered in beans. I just couldn't wait to get out there and when she gave me the ok for the front yard I jumped on it.
