My new 16” Highland Park saw arrived yesterday. Hopefully I can do a test run or two today.

Neat looking saw. I have tons of woodworking tools and saws but your saw is a specialty one it appears. I assume it cuts rocks, bricks and very dense things with that blade. Is that a diamond tipped blade? If so I bet they don't give those away...? I just got rocked by buying a 1- 1/4" X 144" resaw blade for a big bandsaw which closed in on $300.

Best of luck with it and have fun guy....!

Looks like you're going all in. Can't wait to see the results of what you can do with it.

I started on a good size cobble of rhomb porphyry. I’m squaring up the cobble. I’ve made 5 cuts and have one to go. This igneous rock isn’t a challenge for this machine at all. More pics later today.

Looks like you're going to be having lots of fun cutting.
There's nothing like having a new toy.

And if it wasn’t for the glacier bringing me all of your Canadian rocks, I’d have few to cut. Thanks Canada!🇨🇦

Well asking for repatriations of all those rocks would be a bit too much.
So thinking a few selective slices would work out fine.:laughing7:

Man that’s nice, I need to get a small one. I have a bunch up local petrified wood that I would like to slab and polish. I would like to get a tumbler for the small pieces.

QUESTION: How wide is the blade or rather how much material does the blade take out of each cut?

That looks like a lot of fun. Good job.

Haha! My knapping buddy has already invited himself down to slab knapping flint. I don’t think he realizes how long it takes. I haven’t timed it exactly but a 6” cut takes a half hour or so. It’s great to be able to fire this thing up and walk away. Auto shut off.

More… This thing is loaded with fine cracks. So far none seem fatal. You never know though.

I havent measured it but would guess 1/8”. It’s pretty stout.
Another question: Is it water / oil cooled or isn't it required?
