got a chance to start detecting a new site from the 1750's.beautiful colonial house that's been empty for a couple of years.started in front of the house and within 10 minutes i found the 1841 half dime so things look promising.not even 5 minutes later i got a strong quarter signal and up come the 1792 reales which really got me excited.went over near a large old tree and near the base another strong quarter signal.shoot, only a 1875 seated quarter.just kidding!i then ended up around the back of the house where i found the rest of the coins.the new jersey copper was found first in the back.look at the mistruck plus it was holed.still a strange looking copper.maybe a counterfeit?in the back is where i started to find the bar metals that looked to be colonial, maybe revolutionary.here in salem co.the local militia fought against the british.i really like the brooch that has the scene of a fence with windmill and treesthe last coin i found was the pristeen, did i spell it right.was one of the best days of metal detecting i ever had.enjoy the pics.
