Well, I found my next great site. It's not quite around the corner like the my banner field is, but it's still close and much bigger.
First non-trash find was this sweet looking buckle. Amazed me because it was barely 2" deep under a woodchip trail. I think when they blazed the trail they scraped some of the dirt and foliage off before they put the chips down. I've seen these before but don't remember era or purpose (consensus is 18th century shoe buckle), just that they're old:


Found $1.30 in clad, then this token. It was toast coming out of the ground, at first I thought it was an Indian Head, then a Flying Eagle, but after I got home I realized it's neither, but probably a trade token of some sort. Diameter is 19mm.

One of my last finds before heading home was this silver ring with an opal, second silver of the year (but my first ring of 2014):

And here it is all together:
