Got permission at an old house buried in an industrial complex near me. I pass it every so often, today I found the owner. He gave me carte blanche for digging :D

Not bad for a first day. Both dimes were in the same hole, and the axe head was a few inches deeper about 3 feet away.

And a pic of the house's date stone :) It seems the original home was built in 1780, and torn down to build the current home. This date stone is from the original home but the current house was built in the mid-1800s.

Can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Great finds! Thanks for sharing...

If you found two silver coins it's a good sign. I might suggest setting your detector to shoot as deep as possible to look for the really old targets. As old as the property is who knows what you might find. Especially if it's in PA Congrats on the silver!

Cool finds !! Actually-my first ilver find was almost exactly like yours..a Rosie and a Merc in the same hole!! Great finds..thx for sharing, and keep us posted...ddf

Exactly what beez0404 said. You find a site like that here in PA it's time to start going deep. That would be one of those spots that I would dig absolutely everything. There's 234 years of history under that dirt, I hope it's easy digging !!!

I was using my small DD coil at full sensitivity around the immediate environs of the house. When I start on the larger fields today I will be using the 8x11 DD at full sensitivity. I'll keep you posted.

Good silver & a wonderful site! :notworthy: Tx for pic of the date stone, so cool that it's still on the property after such a long time! :notworthy: Andi :cat:

Very nice congrats. Sweet silvers.

Looks like a site with great potential. Having that date stone is amazing. That could be the builder's/original owners initials above the date (??) If so, that could lend itself to some further research of the property.

Thanks for sharing. I love the date stone. Is that attached to the new 1800s house?

Good luck on future hunts.

It is indeed. I do have some info on the property, as well as the initials' owner. Not sure what that "A" stands for, though.

Yes. They built it into the new house's garage foundation.
