Well today I finally mustered up the courage and called about permission to detect some property.See,about a year ago there were these 4 houses side by side and the were being razed one day when I went by.Now these were nice houses in a good area and they are being torn down to make way for some shopping center.I have drove by this property everyday and thought man I would love to detect that area.Well, today I decided to call the number listed on the sign for the reality company handling the sale.
I spoke to the gentleman listed on the sign and he said let me give you the number of the person that owns the land.I called him and asked if he would mind me detecting it and he said he didn't mind and was very nice about it.I told him I could give him a liability release and he said drop it off at his store and they would get it to him.Well tonight I did some research on google earth and zillow and found the oldest house was built in 1896, 2 of them in 1901 and the newest in 1953.
Went there tonight and stuck to the area where the big trees still are.The grass is thick and pokey.Don't know what was in there but ir was poking me everytime I knelt down. Was only finding trash and new pennies when I decided to head over to where the oldest property was.Under a tree I got a broken then good tone on my White's 4900d max.Almost didn't dig but thought what the heck.Everytime I would get a signal I would scan the ground with my pinpointer to make sure it wasn't shallow.Well this target was.Got a tone and found a coin with a "2" on it.Scanned again and got another signal. After it was all done with I had found 3 coins with a "2" on them,a canadian coin, several new pennies,a flattened one and a stainless spoon. There are still more coins in this hole but it got late so I will go back tomorrow if it's not raining.Oh yeah, the "2" cent coins were 2 pennig coins
