I'm getting a used Omega 8000. Version 4. Should arrive tomorrow. I had a few minelabs, tesoros, garretts and whites over the years bur never a teknetics before.
It doesn't have the stock coil but a Cors 12x8 DD. Cors site says that's a good coil to replace the standard with. Sure hope so.
So I will post any decent finds if I find any but I need to watch a few more of the200 plus youtube videos on the omega first.

Good luck Corben! I have an Omega 8000 ver. 6 and it's a good detector but it just went haywire so I'm sending it in and having it upgrading to an 8500.

you can upgrade a 8000 to a 8500? Cool.
But I read that the 8500 was a little of a let down.

I have an Omega and I absolutely LOVE it. It's a fantastic detector.
Dunno about any upgrade because I bought mine used. And BTW it still works as good as the day I got it.

teknetics has no further supply of Omega8000 boards, so warranty returns are exchanged for Omega 8500's. It's not an upgrade program.

I think you will like it. I think that CoRs coil is worth the shot. I had a v4 and paid for it finding coins, but my jewelry finds were terribly low. I used the stock coil and Nels sharpshooter with no luck. My opinion is that I should have been using the 8 inch concentric,5 inch DD, or the 11inch DD in some cases. I run this machine pretty wide open on disc most of the time. Good luck and HH!

I bought my Omega 8000 used no warranty of any kind. I sent it in to First Texas when it bellied up and they sent me back a brand new in the box Omega 8500 at no charge!
Awesome company! So I bought a Patriot from tekneticsdirect.com.
