New TH'er - First Coin
I met Dianne at a Singles Dinner and invited her to go metal detecting at Daytona Beach on Sunday. Rain and breezy conditions were forecasted but we took a chance and made the drive. We reached Dayona Beach and hunted the south side of the pier with zero finds. It was really rough and there was evidence that the tide had reached the seawall. We packed up and moved to the north side and it was equally bare of finds including pull tabs. Dianne managed to find her very first coin on her first hunt, a lowly penny but she was happy. I managed a piece of costume jewelry earring and a couple of pennies.
Beaches were just bare of finds, but the surf was really rough and wind up to 25 mph. Might be good for the local TH'ers, it might throw finds up onto the beach tonight, It was a first date and I was happy to introduce a pretty lady to my favorite hobby.
