Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hello.

I am New to the Hobby
I just bought a Garrett AT Pro. I run the Missouri River in my jet boat alot in this historical area of Kansas mainly fishing for cats. I thought alot about hitting the sand bars/banks which i would assume has alot to offer. So much history in the stretch of the river. I have a ton of research on the area and can't wait to hit it this spring. Anyone else in this area would be interested in a day out on river feel free to shoot me a PM.

Thanks,
Mark

hey, I am fairly new to the hobby also, I have had a bounty hunter land ranger for a few years and also used my dads whites 6000 series. Now i have a new Minelab explorer, and im lovin it. I mostly hunt around old houses and parks and such, I would be interested in tagging along with you sometime this summer, I was gonna try to do some detecting in the rivers around here sometime also and if you ever wanted to go to any of the old houses i have permission to then we could do that, I really dont know anyone or have any friends that also metal detect. I have always wanted to hunt somewhere where i could possibly find relics from the civil war but i dont know any of the landowners anywhere near a battlefield. anyway, let me know if your up for some hunts this spring or summer, thanks, Sam

Always have an extra spot in the boat. :icon_thumright: No shortage of areas along the river, sand bars, three old ferry crossings, and a little known pontoon bridge that once spanned here. Also a few old parks in area to hit. Never been out to that area of state. Appreciate the invite. Sounds like a road trip. I'll drop you a note when weather starts to get a little better.

Hello, I'm new to metal detecting but not the history of this area.
I grew up here in LV, wandering the creeks and fishing in the river. I volunteer occasionally at the County Historical Society and I can use their records to help find places to detect.
I'd like to get out and detect with others and I've had the same idea that the sand bars and points in the river would have quite a bit to offer. I'm aware of several steam boat wrecks in the area.

I'm up for heading out whenever the weather permits, just let me know.
Thanks, Saxon
