I recently just got into metal detecting. I'm 27 years old and live in Ft. Myers, Fl. My father came down on vacation a few days ago. He also recently got into metal detecting a few months ago up in New Jersey where he lives. He brought down with him three metal detectors so that my brother and I could accompany him to the beach and hunt for buried treasure! Between the three of us we found $1.18 in change, one piece of sterling silver jewelry, one hot wheels car, and a bunch of other trash (mostly bottle caps and pull tabs). It was a blast! Time just flew by, it was a really great experience. Now this is a hobby I could really see myself doing. I figured I would register here so that I could learn more about metal detecting, figure out what kind of detector would be best for me in my price range, and to find some good locations to go hunting. It will also be nice to share my experiences as I gain them.
