New to treasure hunting

Hello everyone I just found these forums and wanted to ask a few questions. Me and my wife are located in Thurmont, MD and we enjoy collecting rare/silver coins we been coin hunting for about a month now and wanna get more. How can we go about finding more coins. I see alot of ppl metal detect, if we were to do that where would be even start to find coins?

Welcome to TNet! The first thing to do is, if you want to metal detect, is get a detector. you can spend anywhere from a couple of hundred dollars to a couple of thousand depending upon what you want. when you go to get a machine, make sure you stick with one of the major manufactures (they are on this forum). There are numerous places to hunt (playgrounds, school yards, parks, old homesteds, etc.) but if it's private property make sure you ask permission. you never know what you could pull out of the ground.
