On this week's Tuesday run (have to pick up bags on Tuesday because on Wednesday they prepare them for shipment back to the Fed) I stopped by the standard 3 branches to pick up bags of coins.

Branch #1: Picked up a $200 bag of nickels and a $50 bag of pennies.
Branch #2: Still no full bags as they just opened earlier this month.
Branch #3: Picked up 1 - $50 bag of pennies, 1 - $100 bag of nickels, 1 - $500 bag of dimes

And while at Branch #2, one of the tellers suggested I try a different branch that just so happens to be near where I live as he said they always have lots of coin. I had already been to this branch a couple of times and asked, but was told I need to talk to lead teller and I have yet to call her.
Branch #4: Since the lead teller already had left for the day, I just picked up a box of nickels

Bank #5: I was too late to pick up my half dollar order of $1000 today so that will have to wait until tomorrow. (They said pick up by 4, and I was there at 3:55, but they had closed the vault early today for some reason.)

Once completed, this batch will push me over the 1/2 million mark for coins searched this year.

So I picked through the box nickels and the bag of dimes tonight:

The box of nickels was pretty good:
1 - 1939-S <--key date, 5th lowest mintage in series
1 - 1944-P War Nickel
1 - 1946-S
and 25 pre-1960 jefferson (1940(3), 1940-D, 1941(4), 1941-D, 1942, 1947(3), 1948, 1954-D(2), 1956, 1957-D(2), 1958-D(3), 1959, 1959-D(2))

4 Canadian (1964, 1984, 1985, 1986) and the 1964 looks like a proof.

Also got my first Gold Plated nickel, a 2005-P Buffalo

The $500 bag of dimes also produced well with 6 silver dimes
1 - 1946-D
1 - 1960-D
4 - 1964-D

11 Canadian (1968 Steel, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989(2), 1998, 2005-P)

2 Foreign (Great Britain, 5 Pence(1997, 2000))

The rest will wait for another day.

Wow, half of a million coins searched !! Now thats CRHing. Great finds with the nickles and the dimes, good luck with the $1,000 in halves.

My eyes got a cramp when I read 1/2 million!

1/2 million coins.....that is remarkable GMan!!! You still have my vote for CRH'er of the year....congrats.

1/2 million = 1/2 way to my goal for the year. With only 1/3 of the year gone, it looks achievable, but summer is typically the time I slow down, let's see what happens this year.

The $200 bag of nickels produced quite well.
56 total pre-1960 Jefferson nickels with 33 different date/mintmark combinations. Only 62 different possibilities if you count the 1941-S Large S, so over half of the dates in one bag.

First the best ones (mintages under 25 Million)
1939-S <-- 2 for the day now, and 3 for the year... ;D
1942-P War Nickel
1943-P War Nickel
1945-P War Nickel
1946-S
1947-S
1948-S
1949-S
1951-D
1955 <---my 6th one of the year already for this semi-key date. Not bad considering I only had 6 in my collection coming into this year.

The rest
1939, 1940(2), 1940-D, 1941(3), 1941-S (Small S), 1946(2), 1946-D, 1947(2), 1948(2), 1948-D(2), 1949(2), 1949-D, 1952, 1952-D, 1953-D, 1954-D(3), 1954-S, 1955, 1955-D(2), 1956(2), 1956-D(2), 1957-D(6), 1958-D(3), 1959-D(4))

Also got
7 Canadian (1974(2), 1980, 1981, 1986(2), 1987)

1 Foreign (Great Britain, 1 Penny (2002))

and 1 memorial penny

The only other interesting thing about the bag was the first few pre-1960 coins came out in this order:
1959-D, 1958-D, 1957-D, 1957-D, 1956-D, 1955-D, 1955-D... I was starting to wonder how long that could keep up, then out came the 1943-P.

On to the last $100 bag of nickels

The $100 bag of nickels was so-so. Okay quantity, but not much quality.

1 1944-P War Nickel in XF/AU condition
25 other pre-1960 Jefferson nickels (1939(2), 1940(2), 1941(3), 1941-D, 1946(4), 1946-D, 1948(2), 1951, 1954-D, 1956(2), 1956-D, 1957-D(2), 1958-D(2), 1959-D)

and 3 Canadian (1986, 1990, 2001-P)

Finished off the two penny bags tonight to complete the search.
