On this week's Tuesday run (have to pick up bags on Tuesday because on Wednesday they prepare them for shipment back to the Fed) I stopped by the standard 3 branches to pick up bags of coins.
Branch #1: Picked up a $200 bag of nickels and a $50 bag of pennies.
Branch #2: Still no full bags as they just opened earlier this month.
Branch #3: Picked up 1 - $50 bag of pennies, 1 - $100 bag of nickels, 1 - $500 bag of dimes
And while at Branch #2, one of the tellers suggested I try a different branch that just so happens to be near where I live as he said they always have lots of coin. I had already been to this branch a couple of times and asked, but was told I need to talk to lead teller and I have yet to call her.
Branch #4: Since the lead teller already had left for the day, I just picked up a box of nickels
Bank #5: I was too late to pick up my half dollar order of $1000 today so that will have to wait until tomorrow. (They said pick up by 4, and I was there at 3:55, but they had closed the vault early today for some reason.)
Once completed, this batch will push me over the 1/2 million mark for coins searched this year.
So I picked through the box nickels and the bag of dimes tonight:
The box of nickels was pretty good:
1 - 1939-S <--key date, 5th lowest mintage in series
1 - 1944-P War Nickel
1 - 1946-S
and 25 pre-1960 jefferson (1940(3), 1940-D, 1941(4), 1941-D, 1942, 1947(3), 1948, 1954-D(2), 1956, 1957-D(2), 1958-D(3), 1959, 1959-D(2))
4 Canadian (1964, 1984, 1985, 1986) and the 1964 looks like a proof.
Also got my first Gold Plated nickel, a 2005-P Buffalo
The $500 bag of dimes also produced well with 6 silver dimes
1 - 1946-D
1 - 1960-D
4 - 1964-D
11 Canadian (1968 Steel, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989(2), 1998, 2005-P)
2 Foreign (Great Britain, 5 Pence(1997, 2000))
The rest will wait for another day.
