Hello all and Happy New Year! I was lucky enough to get one of the new 15” coils for the Equinox about 3 weeks ago but with the Holidays, work, and the passing of my mother, have not gotten a chance to swing it. Woke up today, had breakfast and realized it was 60 degrees out. (Quite uncommon here this time of year) Made a deal with my wife that I’d go to my old close to home stomping ground park right up the street from the house; and that she and my son could come by after an hour or so and we’d take a walk. Anyway... I park, get a balance, and start swinging this ground I have pounded because of its convenience to my house. The new 15” feels like swinging a trash can lid along the ground compared to the stock 11”. (Surprisingly it’s not too heavy at all!)
I first dug a Lincoln, wheat, can slaw, wheat (in that order) all 8+” deep. Just as my wife and son arrived, my 5th signal was a jumpy high tone that had me intrigued. Cut it wide and deep and out came what I thought to be a pretty poor shape Classic or Matron. A few wipes and I saw “GEOR” and “REX”!!!
1st time swinging new coil on the 1st day of the year and got my 1st KGII, and therefor oldest coin to date! It’s not in the best of shape but I can make out what looks to be 1737!
What a way to start the year! I wish everyone a safe, healthy, happy, and LUCKY New Year! Thanks for looking! F4D084C5-CF41-4BAA-9F3C-C0B3D2BD8A59.webpA12BD38A-EE68-4E71-8439-4B06C9249137.webp

Nice find. Nice work with the new coil. Congrats

That is so cool to dig something that old congrats on your find if you ever come through this way let me know would love to see it if possible. How deep was it and do you feel the larger coil had anything to do with finding as maybe you had swung over it before but just didn’t hear it because of it’s depth

Great start to 2019

Great find, congrats!!!

Great find amazing If your kid is out with friends and your. detector is missing you know hes a future tnetter Well done

That’s so cool! Congrats!!

Congratualtions on the nice old coins for the 1st day of 2019!

Conshy- you are obviously not far! Lets beep sometime! -I’ve started to look at old maps of parks out that way. Oh and yes- the coil absolutely enabled me to recover that coin. I know I’ve been over that spot before. It was a bouncy high tone- sort of like a can but obviously smaller so it had my attention.
