Just wanted to say Hello and let everyone know I really appreciate the opportunity to learn from you and from this site.

I posted in the Garrett Section this past week. I had just purchased a new ACE 250 last Friday. I turned it on the first night I got it and it appeared to work. i only left it on for a couple of minutes. I turned it off and on Sat morning I was so excited to go out and try it. I turned it on, and....nothing.
It would beep when it was turned on and again when turned off, but it would not do anything else. I replaced the batteries, re-set it, turned it off and on a few times. Re-connected the cable, etc. Nothing helped. I boxed it back up and shipped it back.

BUT....by this time....I was bitten!
I sent back the ACE 250, but I immediately ordered the AT Pro, which arrived today!

I am taking a 1/2 day vacation tomorrow to try it out, even though the high here tomorrow will be about 32º.

Anyway, didn't mean to write a book.

Looking forward to asking you lots of stupid questions, and hopefully posting some pictures of some cool finds.

Welcome. Be advised that the AT Pro takes some learn-in. I've spent about 15 hours on mine and still question most of the sounds it gives out. I have had most of my success hunting in Pro coin with the sensitivity turned down about 3 notches and the discriminator turned up to 40. To most those settings might be a little extreme but you have to get rid of some of the extra noise while you are learn-in.

Excellent move on purchasing the AT PRO. I used it for a few years in the PRO ZERO mode. It has been suggested that whenever using a new machine, you should spend at least 100 hours learning that machine. My PRO paid for itself, (in clad alone), in 18 months. It found gold and silver jewelry on land and in fresh water. Watch a few videos and read your owners manual. I added the 5 x 8 coil, which made the machine lighter and that coil really helped find good targets in trashy areas. I also added the Grey Ghost Amphibian headphones. Always use a coil cover to protect your coil from abrasions. Most importantly, , have fun.

Welcome to the forum from Massachusetts!

The AT Pro does have a slight learning curve. I run in Pro-zero, 7/8 bars and disc=15 (many times iron audio = on); then auto ground balance and drop the balance by 5 numbers.
