Newbie from NC/SC

I spend my time in western nc and the coast of sc. Have a desire to find a new hobby as I near retirement and this has always interested me.
At this time I haven't even purchased equipment but enjoy reading the forums to get the opinions of those more experienced. Keep up the good work.
