Im 37 and have had an interest in metal detecting for a number of years. I love finding local history and expanding my knowledge with this. A guilty pleasure that has finally kicked me off the couch is the show Decoded. Hopefully thats not a show that offends other hunters.
My plan is to start metal detecting shortly after a little research of my area. I know of some what I would guess as foundations from the early 1800's. If Im lucky maybe there older. The area Im from is rich in revolutionary and civil war history. I enjoy seeing the old coins that some of you have found, hopefully I'll find a few for myself.
The second bit of research I need to do is on metal detectors. Im open to recommendations on what to look for or look out for. I look forward to any andall suggestions.
