Newbie has yet another question

Found two rings today...both appear to be Silver...what does the stamp on the inside mean...for example the Man's ring is stamped 1925...I know it has to do with the silver content but that's all I know..Thx in advance

Well 1925 shoulb be a date but usually it says 925 which means the metalcontent is 92,5% silver and 7,5% copper. // ohannos
