Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Welcome to the forum from Massachusetts!

Welcome from Michigan!!!

Welcome Chris -- tell us some more about you -- where are you located? What gear do you use and what do you hunt for? Glad you've joined us -- there's a lot of helpful info here!

I'm from Bethlehem Pa. my hubby bought me a detector about 10 or so years ago but I've not gone out much. Been raising my grandson and he keeps me pretty busy. But he's 5 years old now and is very excited to get out and start "treasure hunting". Not sure of the brand detector but it says discovery 1100. Seems to work pretty well. I'm now looking for a pinpointer. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm looking for local areas to start, it's very exciting:))

Welcome from CT. Happy Hunting! I use a White's TRX pin pointer and love it.

Hey Chris!

Welcome from California!

Whites TRX is very good but I'd recommend the Garrett "carrot". TRX points right off the tip, but the Garretts point off the side of the tip too. Easier and faster to use, I think (have both). Read posts in the pinpointer area to help you decide.

I have the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT (AKA, "The Garrett Carrot"). It works great in all environments and saves a ton of time finding the object in the hole. Well worth the investment. Get hunting and good luck!

Thank you! I'm not very computer saavy but I'm workin on it:) I'm glad to be here:))

Welcome to the forum and the hobby! I have a Discovery 2000 that came from Radio Shack years ago but looks just like a model the Bounty Hunter makes. If you want to find out more, try an internet search for that model detector. As for accessories, figure out your budget and the amount of time you might spend. Read the posts as you get the time as there are lots of good people here and always good hints and ideas! As for hunting, it can be slow or may start out with a bang and lots of finds. You never know and expect that pulltabs, cans, can slaw (chunks of cans hit by mowers), foil and other trash will always be present and end up in the pouch to go to the trash can. But the fun can be finding the coins, jewelry or the toy car and digging those up. Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
