Newbie searching old farm site

Searched an old farm site couple of weeks ago ,found mostly old cast iron farm implements and old wood stove parts. Searched all day even around an old well. I didn't find any coins mostly junk. It seemed as if the ground was saturated with cast iron , every swing of my detector would sing out but it was always junk. Kinda discouraged was wondering if anyone had any advise?

If there is no rush, then dig it all and take it slow. If it is that junky then most treasure hunters in the past probably discriminated right on by the good stuff...

Keep digging up the junk and take it with you. Once you get the junk cleaned out go back out it a different way. You will be amaze as what you will keep on finding. The junk you find keep and sell for scrap metal and take that money and buy some silver coins with it. good luck and keep on swinging....Matt

Junk may be worth a lot of money. Take the stuff home and have it check out.
