Neat little coin! It's a 10 centavos piece issued for use in the Philippines during the time when that country was a self-governing commonwealth of the United States (1935-46). The metal is .750 (75% pure) silver. Coins of this type were struck each year from 1937 to 1945. Some were minted in Manila, but in 1944 and 1945 others were struck at the U.S. Mint in Denver, Colorado. Note the "D" mintmark on yours, which is one of them. It's worth about 75¢-$1.
