I'm not from southern Mi. but I lived in Romeo for a short peroid of time and that town is pretty old. Here might be some things to help. Go to your county or towns historical society to look for information. I know that they made a plat book in 1903 for the county that I live in and I think for every county in Mi. for that year. These plat books show where houses were and school houses plus alot of other things. You can go to "Mi gen web" and click on your county. You should be able to find some info their. You can also go to "cyndi's list" on the web and there is alot of info on that site. Hope this helps. I think everyone will tell you it's all about the research. Happy hunting.

Wolverine.

Where are you at?

i am in livonia
about 10 minutes away from the lake

AWESOME FISHERY! Since its cleanup. I personally hold the record of Newburgh lake. Caught a 43 inch 25 lb. Northern there in 2007. Newburgh lake also has musicians there on the veranda below the comfort station at Newburgh Point on the lake, when the temps are a bit warmer. Be sure to go to nankin Mills to get your Wayne County Parks permit before you hunt in Hines Park, they only cost 5 bucks a year. Many, many people actively hunt Hines Park, including me, lots of silver still being found there. I have hunted it for over 35 years myself. Many hybrid bass in there also, The Mich. DNR cross-bred largemouths with small mouths, there are some humungus Channel cats in there, have seen 27 pounders taken, walleyes too, but they are only about 26 to 29 inches long. Yellow perch were also added when it was restocked. In the Rouge river flowing throughout the park, you can catch some nice sized smallmouths, I've caught them up to 3 1/2 lbs.......... I live in redford.........NGE
