Well, they don't sound too convinced in those two articles. I couldn't open the attachment. Only way to check this out is to go out in your back yard, dig a shaft and pray. If not gold, maybe you'll find coal. Just kidding of course, but you could make your nephew do it...:dontknow:

the website appears to be having problems this morning.
One minute they open, The next I get an Error. Links won't download
But What you see is all their is.
If the Links opened all you would see is unrelated news & where I took it from.
which is already listed above each clipping.

trust me, they are not coming out of the national enquirer or weekly world news.
And the Reporter who did the story No longer works for the News paper.
so a telegraph message will not reach him.

Yep, lots of gold was abandoned on the East Coast as folks ventured for fortunes in California, then Alaska. Those who stayed in the East Coast sometimes found they couldn't find people to work the claims, so they would shut down. I'm sure there's still LOTS left, but most of it is now private land - or protected land (thanks, Fed Gov't!) :protest:

Just around the corner from me....with the few pans i have done in my area of the woods i have found some gold but is so small it would take maybe 5000 yards of dirt to make a 1/4 ounce if i was lucky. but this old article still gives us hope of finding the jack pot

I think most of the hope for finding gold in the East is in hard rock. ...It sure ain't in Fort Knox no more! :laughing7:

I love the part ...

"they are all practical men, active and enterprising"... heh
