Good afternoon everyone,
I am as new as they come to this MD thing other than having a RadioShack Micro? MD years ago as a boy that I used on and off for a few years. I did actually find a watch, pen knife, and maybe $30 worth of coins so I was intrigued. Now I have a different reason to consider getting involved. I lost my wedding band in one of our gardens and my wife and I have been a little 'down' ever since. I can't decide if I should find someone to help out from a local club (no idea other than here and a few dealers in terms of where to look), or if I should bite the bullet and buy a decent entry-level machine? I have been considering either a Garrett Ace 150/250 but I'm sure if I could find my old dusty RS machine it would find the ring soon enough also. Anyway, if some kind soul wants to help me in the St. Catharines area, maybe you could get in touch? The ring isn't worth big bucks other than big sentimental value.

Thanks and take care,
Andrew.

Go with the Ace 250...you can't go wrong with that as a starting machine! Good luck finding the ring. Also, you may want to check out canadianmetaldetecting.com. You'll find lots of hunters in your area!

Welcome aboard!

robot, Your 1280X will work just fine! Just set your Dis. on 4 1/2 and go for it. Dig only solid sounds.
