As much as we bash banks, here is a good news bank story. I opened a new account today, and fully explained that it was so I could order and/or drop off boxes of half dollars. The new bank was fine with this, and so i gave them a bag of halves from my latest skunk box. They ran it through their coin counter while I signed the forms, and I got a deposit slip for $500 into my new account. This was the first honest count I have gotten in months. In fact, short counts is the main reason I am changing banks. I am tired of the bank I currently dump halves at consistently shorting me between $.50 to $5.00 when I return my 2 bags every week.
Anyway, to top it off, the banker sez "You can have one of our gifts, or we will put $50 in your account". I took the 50 bucks! I ordered a pair of boxes, and when they arrive next week I'll let you know if this will become my order bank or my dump bank. This bank uses a different armored car service (J&S or something), so all three of my banks have different sources (J&S?, United and Brinks). This is as good as banking gets, without finding old 90% silver half dollars, lol.
