Today I did an hour hunt on an abandoned field I haven't detected on before. I went around and didn't almost get any signal, I found some small bullet casings and a horseshoe and then I came upon a huge barn foundation that I had no idea it was there. So I detected on it and got tons of signals so I only dug one copper signal and got me a very nice buckle:

Mid 1700's - mid 1800's buckle with silver patina:

It is fully functional and very intact. I wish to go back there soon but now it's a lot of snow and about 20°F/-7°C outside so it's very cold.

That is one SWEET old buckle for certain! Very cool recovery. That spot appears to show some promise for more cool finds. Well done!:headbang:

Great buckle! Are you sure it was used up to mid 1800's? In North America they are usually considered to be earlier (late 1600-1700's), not sure how it is in Sweden.

I agree that is earlier than the op believes. That “anchor chape” style I believe would ya e a date range from about 1680-1720. Not in front of my reference material. Guessing Cru will set us straight. It’s a very nice find

Congratulations...That’s an awesome buckle you found! Sounds like you have a productive site to work on, good luck on it!

Thank you, didn't think it was that old! I appreciate the information!

Cool very old buckle :occasion14:

Great looking buckle, congrats.
I'm not sure how Sweden is but over here a barn usually represents that there's a house pretty close as well. Best of luck on your return hunt.

That’s a sweet old buckle. Congrats.

Please go hunt that area again. Good luck.

17th Century all da way man! And intact. Way to go!

Agreed, I don't think I need to check.
