Hunted an old site yesterday that I’d previously done for about a year and found many good items there. They’re building about a dozen houses there now and I thought I’d stop and detect some of the disturbed dirt around the foundations. Found a couple interesting items of which I’ll post the rest later. The find of the day was this beautiful crotel bell. It’s the second one I have found intact but the first that still has the clacker intact inside. It’s got the makers mark of G. A. & W on the bottom of which I included a photo of who that was and when it was made. After cleaning it up, it jingles quite nicely. Amazing for a 170 year old bell.
Oh and my cat Gracie was quite interested in it as well. She tried to swat it after she gave it a good inspection.
That title should say Crotel bell but didn’t see it before I posted and you can’t change titles for some reason or delete the post and start over.
