Nice KGIII, Early Buckle, Knuckle Guard from "Dog Head" Sword and odds and ends
A coin and a few relics from two different sites and some questions for the experts... The KGIII is in pretty nice shape compared to what we have been finding. Is there anything that I can do to arrest the flaking around the edge? The thicker knuckle guard was found near mbcuce's "dog head" sword handle and looks to belong with it. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...agon-head-sword-handle-colonial-era-site.html I'm pretty sure the other similar object is also a knuckle guard, maybe from a small sword. I've found pewter buttons similar to the one pictured, but this one appears to be lead. Should I apply glue and water anyway? I'm calling the knob-thing a riding whip terminal. The diameter is too small for a walking stick or even for a parasol, based on the ID of the slides that we dig. Any other ideas? The thing with the nipple is a mystery. It seems to have been a cylinder that got crushed. The hole in the nipple goes through, so it could have been a funnel of some kind. Maybe a powder measure?

Thanks for looking.
