I've been working on cents more lately; bankroll is down after the holidays, and can only afford 4 boxes of halves a week, so cents are a good way to scratch the CRH itch.

Did a cent box a couple weeks ago of all CWR's. Despite 9 rolls solid zinc (dumps), still averaged 21.4% copper, including 7 Wheats.

Last weekend I picked up a solid MWR cent box, just finished it tonight. Copper was back to normal, right at 26.2%, a full 12 wheats, and a dime. But the kicker was a 1909 wheat:

Slowwwwly flipped it over, and saw:

WOO HOO!!! 1909 VDB!!!

Quite worn and unfortunately corroded, but still jacked to find one! I looked like crazy for that "S", but I'll take this!

It's still out there!

Very nice find ! I too have begun hunting cent boxes again - been through about 10,000 cents - found 20 wheats ! Is this pretty typical or above or below average ?

Around here at least, 20 Wheaties for 10K pennies is really low.

That's a tad low; I usually average 0.3% wheats, or 7.5 per box. Still, that's only 4 boxes, so not really a large enough sample size to tell yet.

about 110 boxes---1800++ wheats, about half dozen IH, 2800+ copper Canada, 400 crap Canada. Euro, Bermuda, Bahamas, Cuba, Panama, Netherlands, Ireland, Reichpfennigs

Man I gotta try my hand at pennies! I seem to get a wheat every roll. Probably because I am not (yet) hooked on pennies.
