That is an odd coin.
Im thinking a Masonic coin or some kind of Fraternal Organization.
They are heavy into the strange handshakes...nice finds!

really cool finds

I think the strange coin could be a Mormon symbol. If you look in the United states coin book, look at some of the similar coinage that they produced. Of course Joseph Smith was a Mason and so a lot of the same symbolism is used by the Masons as well. Good luck.

Have to agree on some type of Fraternal Order but not sure if Masonic. Other items are interesting; great digs.

any day with a ring is a good day.....wtg

The coin or token is interesting to say the least. I agree that it does appear to be linked to the Masonic Order. Think I saw the all seeing eye there...(no pun intended).

Does this look like your token?

If it is gold and genuine it is worth a lot of money.

From a 2006 sale:
http://www.doylenewyork.com/damoncoins/damoncoins.htm

1850, Mormon Gold Five Dollars
Pale gold with soft surfaces, the details somewhat worn in places.
Depicting the crowned eye and halo surrounded by the inscription
HOLINESS TO THE LORD and showing the clasped hands of the reverse,
exemplifying strength in unity.
AU 53 (NGC).
Estimate: $15,000-20,000
Sold for $27,000

People do sell brass reproductions of these coins, I have one.

I am not sure about the coin/token, but the key is for a barrel lock. It would fit into a similar lock to the one I found last week:
