Wind was brutal and it was pretty cold but I managed about 4 hours this afternoon. The range of finds here is like no other field site I have hunted. War nickel, 37 Buffalo, two 1860 Indians, two toasty coppers(one is a Draped Bust) and two more ornate 18th century strap guide pieces. Some flat buttons as usual but I believe one maybe two are 17th century. The drilled shank one with the design on the front was my favorite find of the day. First complete one of that type for me I believe

Nice finds. Looks like you're on some old dirt and you never know what might pop up.

Its a 1730 house site but land patents in my area go back to the late 1600s so this site looks to have had activity from as far back as then and as recent as WWII

Very nice hunt, liking the variety of finds.

Looks like a great day digging! Congrats on a beautiful grouping of finds!!

Oh yes, that dirt is old.
I know you're anxious to see what pops up next.

Nice relic hunt! :occasion14:

And that is why Maryland is merry land folks. Great hunt and finds !

Yes, I get a few of those buttons & it is indeed 17th C - Congrats

Thanks. Might sound crazy to some but for me most any find from the 17th century is tough to beat

Some really early stuff in that site. I see a nipple ornamental. Only have 3 of em and they all came from the same 17th century site. Although I am sure others have dug them, Bill D. likely, I don't remember seeing them posted. I'd pound the living daylights outta that place. From here I can already smell a cob or better...

They are a stylised rose design. I get a few of these & your right others have had them at early US sites.

Great variety...thats what keeps it interesting!
