Looks like a small scallop shell in sandstone. I'd say it's a fossil.

Sure looks good to be a fossil - clearly things are not always what they seem , but without compelling evidence to the contrary i'd go
with it .

That's awesome! How old could it be?

Sure looks like a fossil. And heavy enough to weigh down my pile of monthly bills. Maybe. Carl

Nice but I don't get it lol are you saying it could be worth money?

Could be millions of years old (What's a few million years one way or the other ?)

yes if Devonian Period of the Paleozoic Era,
it could be 400 million years old give or take.

Cool old Find

Found it near the Susquahana river in NEPA if that helps.

well I'm NE PA just east of the Susquehanna & do find those when hunting a Devonian period pit here
so I'm gonna stick with
Brachiopod or Clam & 400 million years old give or take.

I love fossils. Hate to say it's not worth anything though. She'll fossils are quite common. I also agre it is probably around 400 million years old or so. The rock does appears to be layers of sandstone. Gotta love it though :). Thanks for sharing.
