I went back to the soybean field I found my 1789 half Real. I took a very slow long walk as I spent quite a few days gridding in this giant field. There is an iron patch as big as a football field, I'm sure just that area will give up a few trinkets for the next few years. It did give up a few today.
Enjoy the pix

Thanks Davers, I have found quite a few coppers in this field this season, the soil is very hard on them. Really I probably should say the fertilizer is very hard on them. I'm happy when at least I can ID them. I'm glad I'm able to have the opportunity to hunt this field, it has been good to me.

Congrats on the old copper and V nic. Looks like a good day to me
I know you know it Art, my fellow field hunter.

Fantastic finds Brad!
Thanks Ken you know we'll hit this field again in March when you come out, same one you found one of your Flying Eagles I believe.

Looks like another good hunt Brad. Congrats.

Very nice Brad. Sidelined today? We're under frozen rain covered snow today...

Nicely done Treb,,
We're shut down right now with snow covered lawns and frozen ground.

I just got back, the rain is starting now so I got a quick one hour hunt and found a weird looking copper, I'm trying to ID right now. I was poking around a new field, scouting.

Nice Draped Bust, even without the date - Same with the V Nickel! :icon_thumright:

Nothing quite like hunting a place that has proven it's holding some nice stuff!

Congrats, Treb!

Thanks WIF, I like the scenery here too, it was this soybean field that the giant buck came out into the field chasing a doe who had thirty seconds earlier came out thirty yards from me, hit the brakes, swung her head around to look at me, then ran from me down the edge of the field to jump out over a pretty tall hedgerow. The buck trotted out never breaking stride with his nose to the ground totally oblivious to me and followed right out the way she took. Two minutes later another nice size buck did the same thing. I have yet to find out who owns the rest of the woods, the owner told me she owns a portion of it I still have to get in there and hunt.

Congrats on another good day on the fields Brad.
