I was awake at about 8 this morning, so I went metal detecting. I just got my detector back from Garrett's service center about four or five days ago, and this was my third time to detect since I got it back.
The first day was during the week, so I couldn't hit the school I was working on two weeks ago when it went crazy on me, so I went to the fair grounds that I have hit pretty hard in the past. As soon as I got my metal detector back I went out my front door and found a nickel that was about three inches deep that I have passed over countless times, so I thought that there was a chance I would be able to sniff out some silver at the fair grounds, or at least some more clad. After about three hours of hunting, I had only managed a grand total of about 90 cents and no jewelry or old coins.
Yesterday was warm, which was good because I probably would of had the coil to the soil even if it was freezing outside. I searched a pretty large playground area that I have only hit the borders of in the past. I ended up with 66 clad coins, and the locals and I managed to only annoy each other mildly.
I was cherry picking dimes and quarters and ended up with about twelve pennies for a total of about nine dollars.
It felt good to get out. I haven't had much to do since my metal detector went in the shop. I was definitely sore when I got in yesterday, but I was up and daylight this morning so I got back at it early. Yesterday I hit the 4,5,6th grade playground and today I went to the other side of the school, which is the 1,2,3rd grade playground. Yeppers. I guess the older kids carry more change, because targets were a lot less frequent this morning and there were more dimes than quarters, which is generally not the case, in my experience, at other schools in the area. I ended up with 36 coins this morning for a grand total of 102 coins in two days, totalling about $13.00.
I would post a scan even though it is only boring clad, but most of the coin is already in the jar.
alright,
