Welcome to tnet dont have a clue what it may be but the more info you provide the better like where did you find it what do you think it's made of what did people think it was in 09. Good luck hope you get an I'd. Tommy

looks like a home made fishing weight...

after enlarging it several times, it almost looks like it has 57 stamped on it

Welcome to the forum! You found a very nice relic, congrats! :occasion14:

After looking at it does look like a 7 but I was thinking it was the impression left after it was flattened out. Not sure though.

Nice relic. Welcome to Tnet from Mississippi

The more information the better, it looks sort of like an old homemade fishing sinker but I don't know why it would have a 57 on it. Maybe you could tell us like what material it is, how big it is or anything else. I have seen people do a pencil rub on some coins or relics like this and that could be helpful. Congrats on the nice find. I would love to find that!

It's just a bit wider than a quarter and thickness of about 4 quarter's. There is definitely some numbers that I believe are 57 (maybe 67) but I really think the numbers are an imprint of when it was being hammered flat. The hole looks looks like a nail has been driven through it with no drill marks..could be degradation though.
