Jambone's CRH Log

It's not really fair to say I CRH'ed because I just went through some change we've saved in a glass 5gal water bottle...

thousands of cents (have no idea how many yet): 30 wheats
$5.00 in nickels: found 1 1942-P (woohoo, my first one!) and 3 2009-D's
$20.70 in dimes: nada
$55.00 in quarters: zilch

Very excited about the war nickel. I may have to start going thru rolls of halves and/or nickels. Kinda fun!

And you've caught the disease of CRH'ing. Happy hunting

it can be fatal. i wish you luck and watchout for the tellers/balboa's, main complications of fatalities in this disease.

1942 nickels have to have the mintmark above monticello to be silver. It's a common new mistake made and just putting it out there FYI

The non-silver '42-Philadelphia doesn't have any mint mark, so if it has a P at all, it's war nickel.

There was a big "P" above Monticello on the reverse. It also sounds different than a clad nickel (when dropping it on a granite countertop for example).
