northern ohio or indiana

I am in northwest ohio also known as the mohave desert.We have not had a drop of rain in my area for over 3 weeks.I know that north and west of me has gotten a bit of rain but everything has missed us.I have the week of july 4th off and had hoped to do quite a bit of detecting but the weather doesnt look promising.Can anyone direct me to any parks fairgrounds or schools in northern ohio or indiana where there might have been a bit of moisture,i dread the thought of wasting a weeks vacation.I dont mind if its been hit hard as long as i can dig more than 3/4 of an inch without a backhoe lol.....those of you getting rain be thankful...feel free to e-mail me with any ideas or post here...thanks and hh...jon

how close are you to sandusky?
if its possible i would try and hit the beaches around lake erie and
if you can hit Kelly's Island or Put-In-Bay, bound to be easy to dig
and surely some treasure to be found
