not a coin but silver nonetheless

I got out this a.m. before the rain for about an hour. I pulled the spoon and the indian(1896). The bell and the big silver were from a quick hunt on sunday. I believe its the front of a pocket watch case. It's tough to see in the pics but it has a freemason symbol (square and compass) on the face and it says Fahy's coin NO. 1 on the inside. So still in a silver coin drought but I'm finding keepers s I'll take it.

That is a killer find, Masonic pocket watch case... in "coin silver" none the less... I assume "coin" means 90% coin silver.

A lot of those old pocket watches were Coin Silver.
That's 90 % Silver just like you would find in a coin.
American silversmiths switched over to 92.5 %, (Sterling), in the 1880's to stay competitive with European Silversmiths.
Yep,, you got a real piece of a Coin Silver.

Tommy G, It actually rang up like a Half at 4" but ended up being about 7". I almost gave up thinking it was a deep can I'm glad I kept digging.
