But still cool, my parents bought this in 1982 when I was 9 in Sweden while visiting relatives, I have always liked it and my dad gave it to me today.

I believe it is crystal, it is about 9 1/2 inches about 7 pounds, Etched on the bottom is Orrefors 4283-111 Olle Alberius.

This is the best I can get of the bottom.

Olle Alberius, is a Swedish Glassware Company based in the Town of Orrefors. They have a history that goes back to 1898. Your piece is definitely crystal and may even be considered "Art Nouveau"
That could date it at "Pre-World War I"
