I found these beautiful pieces at a thrift store. The china cabinet cost me $40.00 and is in near mint condition, just needs some handles replaced. It even came with the original skeleton key. The desk I paid a whopping $2.99 for. It needs some work but I'm already on it. Missing a couple drawers which I'm going to make into cubbies. I am going to fix up the desk and sell it but keeping the china cabinet. Does anyone have any ideas about the age of these pieces? Thanks for looking!

Can't help you on the ages, but it looks like you did well to me.

The china cabinet is lovely, older I think than the desk, I'd guess. Hard to tell age from a picture, though. With furniture you really need to pull it apart, look at wood, joints etc to make a guess at age. Have you checked everywhere on the cabinet for a manufacturer, sometimes a metal tag, or even pencil written on the back.

the china hutch has a boston look...if so it may(and I mean MAY)be 1910 to 1925 ISH.your next move is to get an expert to look at it and let us know.Guessing from a photo is like grading a diamond blindfolded.
good luck...very nice pieces

Very nice. I would try to have the items dated BEFORE you do any fixes or changes. You never know!!
