So we have here a lot of the trash that was dug but not all of it from two or three hunts. We dug a lot of iron, a bunch of horse shoes of various sizes and shapes plus oxen shoes but we left most of them at a place near the dig for the owners. We have cleared out the area where we have found the silver coins and the dogtags as we searched for more things connected with the tags. We just spent the last two days in Little Rock at the VA hospital for cardio reasons and couldn't wait to get back out to the site. However, as we pulled up to our parking area, the floodgates opened up as a sudden storm emptied a lot of water and I mean a lot of water. So, maybe later this evening we will be able to get back. The toy or cap gun revolver was caked in yellow clay and almost fooled me for a second as I pulled it out of the wet clay. It actually had some heft to it but it was quickly ruled as a toy. the wife found her fourth pocket knife and some buttons. We both found 30 carbine loaded cartridges as well as fired bullets plus shotgun shell headstamps. Betty found the reward tag, it says "if found return to John Martin (street address unreadable) Mena, Arkansas Receive Reward. no idea what it was attached to. just clad on these hunts. these have been hot muggy sweating hunts, two 20 oz water bottles that seemed to do little for you. This spot is within 300 yards of the train tracks so spikes are expected around here.
I could not find a makers mark on the cap gun. thanks for looking
