Not much but this badge?

Went out for a short hunt today decided to check out a small area that looked promising. 1959 nickel, couple pennies, two piece button, some iron, fired bullet and this badge. At first just by the shape I was thinking American Legion. I got it home cleaned it up and it appears all or most of the wording is ground off not worn. I have been looking at Antique badges on line and now I am thinking is rail road related? I did find it close to a rail line. This has to be the neatest mystery item I have found this year so far. Any thoughts on this badge.

It is a cool badge! Since the wording is gone, you might try to get as much detail as possible form the center emblem and search for that.

Here is a much better pic. Looks like it says UNION? then G MAN across bottom. Bummer its ground down.
