Gday friends,
well being new to the hobby i have learnt so much over the past 6 weeks. Between working fulltime 12 hours per day and 3 hours travel time i have tried to utilise what spare time is left detecting without angering the Mrs too much .
Most of my time has been swinging along the beaches near where i live , not a great deal to find at the moment as they have been pumping new sand onto the beaches for the past 4 months and tourist season wont start until December. What coinage and one silver ring i have found is acceptable.
I did however get the opportunity to detect at a closed down school near where i work , built in 1875 and closed in 2008 , i have taken a good number of older coins out of the ground there although being such acidic soil has left the coins in very poor condition , from what i can read looks like the oldest penny is 1934 , cant really read the dates on the 1/2 pennies though
