So I got permission to detect an area that used to be a park in the 1920s recently, and I decided to give it a test drive today. It is currently a salmon hatchery, and I spent a little over an hour there. Didn't find much other than the ring, just a few dimes and a handful of clad pennies. There was a lot of interference in the ground, I'm guessing some sort of piping, and I fear the land has dirt fill, but I will probably try there again before I come to that assumption. Anyways below are pictures of the ring, as I said this place has potential oldies, but hasn't been proved yet so the ring may be old or new. I found it about 3" down, thanks for the help!

I think its probably a newer ring, just based on the split on the back to adjust the size. Creepy looking, though.

I thought you said you found a skeleton key not a ring? Oh well nice find whether its old or new. Looks new to me.

Cool find. Many seem to be highly collectable. I do not know if that is one though. Nice find

I think that might be one of those prize rings we used to get in the cereal boxes or crackerjacks.

I have one of these rings from when I was younger. It was a ring put out as a movie promotion for the movie "The Phantom". It was a comic book turned Motion picture type movie. The Movie came out in 1996 I believe.
