At first, thought maybe a button, but it has lettering on the front, and across the back to.

This area was settled by the Irish and Swedes, so it could be some sort of token.

It has a basket or pot with some type of grass on the front.

Too rough to tell anything about it. Have you tried cleaning it up? It looks like brass or copper.

Clean as I can get it, cleaning it further would just make it shiny, removing any more details.

Can you read what it says on the "coin"?

If not, how about putting a sheet of paper over it and then shading it with a pencil?

We may be able to get a clearer image of what's on it?
