✅ SOLVED Not sure what it is. Any Ideas would be appreciated!

I believe it is brass. It may be an old shotgun shell?. There is a M on the top with the numbers 25500 in the M. At a loss here. Any ideas?

I don't think it's gun related. What ever it is, it looks like water has seeped into it, then froze, splitting it wide open.

Looks like a capacitor, ignition condenser ?

Maybe part of a lighter, with the stuff inside to hold the fluid (or whatever the wadding inside old lighters does).

Great job locating that symbol, looks very similar to the brass casing. I don't think I'm going to be putting the stuff inside on any cracker though. The inside seems to be a compressed fabric or paper like substance impregnated with metal or metallic flakes, maybe its asbestos because I haven't found any paper left on any shot gun shells. Thanks

I originally thought it might be ammo because I have seen brass covered shot gun shells. I didn't think of the water expansion possibilities, the item was found in Florida on old dead orange grove land so I am thinking that the damage might have occurred due to tractors. Thank you for your response
