That's a 1943 nickel. It is 35% silver, nice find!

Maybe it's the rare 3 over 1 variety? :laughing7: Congrats on the silver!

Nice, I only have 1 in more than 3 years in of digging

A first is a first....congratulations!

Nice. I cant tell you how many unique things I've found before I found a war nickle. For exmple.. Fur trade axes, 1807 KGIII, Ford Model T parts, Gold and Silver rings, Walking Liberty Half, multiple silver coins and so on and so on. So congrats it's not as easy at it seems :icon_thumright:

I love war nickels, they always come out looking so nice!!!! Congrats!!!!

Not around these parts. Most of the war nickels I’ve dug have had green crud. The most recent Looks like it caught something from a zinc penny...

Congrats on your first war nickel! Haven't seen one in about four years, but I always know what they are when I see them surface!
