That's a 1943 nickel. It is 35% silver, nice find!

Nice. I cant tell you how many unique things I've found before I found a war nickle. For exmple.. Fur trade axes, 1807 KGIII, Ford Model T parts, Gold and Silver rings, Walking Liberty Half, multiple silver coins and so on and so on. So congrats it's not as easy at it seems

Not around these parts. Most of the war nickels I’ve dug have had green crud. The most recent Looks like it caught something from a zinc penny...

I know right.....my list is full of bucket listers. 6 years and thousands of coins dug only two notable nickels One Buffalo and this war nickel
