I went to a creek today. First thing I saw were footprints. I have permission out there but some walk it anyway. I saw prints on the 1st 3 bars so I decided to make the long journey and it paid off. The banks are super steep easy to get in but hard to get out. Must of had a flood since my last visit. It was humid but not super hot 80s no breeze but I’d do it again if I hadn’t walked the whole creek today 😃
You can’t see the creek from the field you have to go through the bushes, vines and thorns just to find the creek. One section I went to far down and looked up after sliding in and saw a new gravel bar upstream. It wasn’t a really big one but I decided to go back and have a look. Glad I did cause it was laying right on top. I found a bunch of stuff. Scrapers, tools, flakes and pottery even a broken flaked ax/Celt. But here are the best that will be framed.

Good day out; definitely worth the walk. Glad you were able to score a few (and the weather was bearable 🙂)
Here is a couple of the nice scrapers. The grey one has a spur on one side I tried to get a good shot of the bit on it.

Black as coal.
I believe all are Woodland today. See what you think on the types. The big one I’m feeling strongly on being a Bakers Creek by the expanding base. And the other is harder to determine because of the resharping but I believe it is a Swan Lake both Woodland

Very nice finds, well worth the walk! Congrats!
Thanks. The creek turns almost everything black. When they dried out I believe one is blue and the other brown. I’m actually soaking them in vinegar and will see what color when cleaned. I do find black and grey chert so we will see. One time I cleaned a black point and it was actually white quartz. I liked it better as black lol

Nice to see a few more pieces rescued, imagine how much longer they could have been lost if you went somewhere else. Nice productive day.

I had been walking a different property since June and a couple of fields. Should of just stayed where I was. But that’s okay at least now I know. You can walk a creek and clean it out just like a field until a good rain stirs up the gravel.
