Wonder if any of you knowledgeable folks could identify this pin i found..its in ruff shape but i'm sure its an NS Meyer military pin, just never seen one like it before.

I may be wrong, but I think that would be classified as a WWII era "sweetheart" pin or brooch. The Great Seal with enamel was typical of that sorta pin. I have never seen one quite as ornate as yours, though.

There are different background colors In the "Great Seal" to indicate the different offices that issued the medal. One color may indicate agency level, another may indicate the senate or house and yet another represents the President. This is used to identify the level of contribution or service. If you're in the wrong place wearing the wrong color, you just might get shoved down the laundry chute!
