Got this from my aunt & uncle, I guess this was from my uncles mother when she passed away and spent the better part of 20yrs hidden in the back of a china cabinet because my aunt HATED it. I was over helping my family and I seen it laying on its side way in the back hidden from view and asked about it, my aunt said it was old and her mother in law had expensive taste but it wasn't her cup of tea, she said take it or she was gonna toss it, any idea on how old it is or if its worth anything? Either way its now prominently displayed with my bottle collection. :laughing7:

WOW a lot of info is coming out about this figurine, even one thats for sale for $500!!!

I called my aunt and told her that an exact copy was for sale for $500 (I felt really bad about getting this for free) and she said to keep it, I promiced not to sell it and if she ever wants it back that I would gladly hand it over.

Re: nude figurine

No idea. Maybe based on the hairstyle though, 1950's? She's got a nice bod for sure!

Re: nude figurine

Interesting, hope someone can come up with some info for ya.

Re: nude figurine

Great "Sun Child" figurine!

I believe Karl Tutter originally designed that particular piece before WWII and since then, there have been various reproductions in that style.

Do you know about when that piece was originally purchased? The earlier examples are higher in value.

AWESOME info bud, no the only info was that my uncle got it when he mother died and has sat in the back of his china cabinet for about 20yrs or so, when I got it it was caked with dust and I just rinsed it with tap water (not wanting to use soaps or anyting on it). My uncles ma (uncle by marage) had a ton of figurines in porcelin and copper, bronze and stone, she was a traveler and had stuff form europe, asia, africa and south america and are displayed at my uncles house but like I said my aunt HATED this particular piece so she hid it all these years. :laughing9:

Re: nude figurine

Might want to check out some of the Tutter and Werner sun worshipper art. It's Nazi-era and was sold in SS shops largely during Hitler's reign.

Very nice piece! I'd have to hide it myself as I'd end up staring too much and wifey would take to that liek your Aunt did!

I would think that it was made for export since the Germans do not call their country Germany .

That is nice I love old art. That is something you keep for ever.
