It's Known as a Counter Stamp.

They Come with All types of Names & Numbers.

Real Hard To I.D. Who Did it or Why tho.
Maby used in Slot Machines, & Marked, to Keep the Payoff Seperate From the Machines Intake.
So Percentages of PayOut could be Easier Totaled.

TRADE DOLLARS are Known Especially for their Counterstamps,

Put on at Different Ports.

on your Buffalo, 11138 is most likely a date

1-11-38 OR 11-1-38
My guess The Former or it would be 110138

I Cant help with the Indian Side. 3 3 0 1

counterstamped coins are awesome, id rather find a counterstruck one than a regular one, they are more unique!

:) Thanks much, it was my first stamped coin. I asked a couple guys that have been digging around here since the 80's and nobody knew what it was.

Indian Gaming Commission, now the National Indian Gaming Commission.

I thought of That However, were they around in the 30's ?

Or Even Early enough, to have been using Mercury Head Dimes ?

Good point. After doing some research, I think that the IGC was founded in the 1980's to regulate gambling on Indian lands. Maybe you can do some local research and see if Indiantown Gap marked coins to use as... kind of like red points. Maybe dimes marked like this carried 15 cents worth of value? Who knows? Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
